The Macquarie Paediatric Spine Fellowship is available for 6,12 or 24 and is open to qualified orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons planning to subspecialise in paediatric spine.
The Macquarie Spine Fellowship has hosted fellows from Australia and overseas, including India, Nepal, Singapore, Kenya, Rwanda, Vietnam, Jordan, Israel, the Philippines, United Kingdom, USA and UAE.
Fellows are involved in more than 200 spinal operations, including complex cases involving instrumented fusion and tumours.
Fellows are supervised consulting with patients (pre and post-operatively) and encouraged to take part in clinical and/or primary research.

Fellows work with four spine surgeons (Dr Brian Hsu, A/Prof Kevin Seex, Dr Bhisham Singh and Dr Vinay Kulkarni) operating supervised in The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and St George Hospital and assisting in the following private hospitals:

Applicants must pass the International English Language Testing System to be eligible to apply for this fellowship.
International fellows must be credentialed with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)* on their arrival in Australia. Once registered with AHPRA, fellows can be credentialed with the hospitals where they will be working.
*Fellows are not recognised as medical specialists in Australia. Fellows should apply to AHPRA as a Clinical Fellow or Surgical Assistant.
